United have offered a staggering eight-year contract in their latest attempt to keep him at the club.

The Hammers have been in contract discussions with Rice throughout the season and are desperate to tie the 23-year-old down to a new deal with both and desperate to sign him.

The former Chelsea youngster is understood to have already rejected at least two offers from West Ham.

Rice has two years left on his current deal at the London Stadium with the option to extend by another 12 months but the club are still eager to agree new terms.

According to , the east London side have now offered an eight-year deal worth £200,000-per-week. The report adds however Rice is ‘showing no inclination’ to sign the deal.

West Ham remain adamant Rice will not leave the club this summer, valuing the England international at £150million.

Rice has emerged as one of the Premier League’s hottest properties since breaking into the Hammers’ first-team in 2017 and going on to become the side’s captain.

Chelsea are keen to bring their former youngster back to Stamford Bridge.

But recent reports suggest United are favourites to sign the midfielder, with Chelsea hampered by government sanctions and prioritising defensive additions to replace the departing Andreas Christiansen and Antonio Rudiger.

United have made signing a central midfielder a top priority heading into the summer with Nemanja   Matic and Paul Pogba’s expected departures set to reduce their already meagre options in the middle of the park.
