‘I’m glad to hear that they think she’s going to make a full recovery and that she will be okay, so that’s the most important thing.’
American Idol winner Adam will be headlining Pride in London on Saturday, with Wicked superstar Idina Menzel and Todrick Hall warming up the Trafalgar Square Stage for him.
‘It’s so exciting,’ he enthused ahead of the performance. ‘You might be surprised by how much glitter I’m able to put on my body and rhinestones on my face and sparkly things everywhere.
‘I don’t think it’s going to be a stunty surprise show. I think, hopefully, people are just excited by the music and have a good time and want to joy.’
Bigging up his Sigala collab track You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real), which has been named as the official Pride song, he added: ‘I was thrilled that Sigala wanted to work on this with me and I wanted to honour Sylvester who is an unsung icon in the music industry, especially being out and gay when he wrote this song.
‘It just felt like the right message, given everything that’s going on right now in the world with any sort of anti-gay sentiment, spreading a message of unbridled love is perfect.
‘That’s the weapon that we have is joy – and it’ll make you shake your tush.’
