star Adin Ross, known for his streams, has been banned from the platform due to hate speech.

21-year-old streamer, Adin Ross, has been banned indefinitely after the platform found him in violation of their terms of service. This isn’t the first time he he’s been in trouble over similar issues, making this his fifth ban on Twitch.

A previous ban included use of homophobic slurs by his on-camera guests and this newest ban appears to be in the same wheelhouse.

In a video that surfaced online while guesting on his friend’s stream, YourRage, Ross was heard using the same slur, drawing criticism from the Twitch community.

Why Adin Ross was banned

The use of hate speech while live on Twitch is the most popular theory for Ross’ permanent ban. In a now , Ross claims he was given no real reason outside of Twitch’s automated email – which is normally how bans work.

‘I got banned on Twitch, indefinitely. I am not sure what I said though? I’m not sure what I did? It occurred on stream or VOD? I don’t know man,’ Ross said in the tweet, including the screenshot stating it was over ‘hateful slurs or symbols’.

Ross’ account had garnered 5.9 million followers, putting him in the top 20 Twitch users prior to the ban. His streams involving basketball title NBA 2K had lead him to speaking directly with Lebron James and even starting a hashtag that reached worldwide shared status against the game’s state in 2020.

All of Adin Ross’s bans from Twitch

Outside of this incident and the prior incident involving hate speech, Adin Ross was also banned for reckless driving while live on the platform.

The streamer decided to use his phone while driving, to check on his chat and stream, which was reported by one of his viewers.

With the popularity of ‘real-life streams’, Twitch has to ensure that laws are followed so that they don’t become implicated in anything. This has happened before, as user ‘Jake’n’Bake’ was banned for the same reason.

Another of Ross’ bans involved nudity while broadcasting, albeit in game while playing Grand Theft Auto 5. The games features explicit scenes that have caused unsuspecting streamers on both Twitch and YouTube to be banned.

Japanese virtual YouTuber group, , had three incidents where their members wound up in the game’s strip club and due to the language barrier – supposedly – were unaware what they were getting involved in.
