has revealed he was feeling the nerves before being subject to an exorcism in Sri Lanka.
But despite feeling ‘quite scared’ beforehand, the presenter, 53, remained unconvinced his demons were fully exercised after the ceremony.
Alexander underwent the spiritual practise for his travel series Alexander Armstrong in Sri Lanka, which he discussed on Thursday’s .
After chatting about his travels in the South Asian country, the BBC programme’s hosts Roman Kemp, 30, and Alex Jones, 46, grilled him about the exorcism.
Looking shocked, probed the Classic FM presenter: ‘Now, firstly, what was involved? Secondly, what did your wife think?’
Alexander replied that his wife hasn’t seen all of the show yet but explained how he came about having his demons exorcised.
He revealed: ‘Somebody approached me in this shop where they had all these masks, they have these traditional masks, which are part of a psychotherapy type thing where you’re given a particular personality type and a various type of mask, and the idea is that you dance around with this mask.
‘Anyway, I went along to this thing quite scared and I had to sit wrapped up in it in a blanket watching this extraordinary show that was put on for my benefit alone, musicians banging drums and things.
‘And it began to dawn on me about half an hour into it that actually this was a sort of comic show really. It was part circus and part entertainment, or cabaret, really.
‘It was beautifully done and then I relaxed I really enjoyed it.’
Roman asked: ‘So do you feel like the demons have been exorcised?’
Alexander replied to a chorus laughs in the studio: ‘I don’t know but I had a great time.’
The One Show airs on BBC One on weekdays at 7pm.
