While conquering the world is no easy feat, singer and Brit award winner admitted she was prepared to put her chance at a ‘real life’ on the line to dominate all continents – one jazzy dance track at a time.

The 29-year-old from Bewdley, Worcestershire, was making appearances on , thrilling festival fans at and rocking the stage at the Brits alongside and Harry Styles.

Despite flying high, she revealed there was an America-sized gap in her ambition she was determined to fill and was prepared to press pause on everything else until the Yanks were screaming her name.

Explaining the true reality behind breaking America, Becky admitted it was the country’s sheer size that made it such a jarring task – but one she was gunning for nevertheless.

She began exclusively telling Metro.co.uk: ‘I hope things will start moving pretty fast out there because I’m nearly 30 and I want to get married and have a real life like most people do at some point but I won’t do that until I’ve taken over the world.

‘In the UK, everything is centred around London, weirdly and annoyingly especially as I’m from Worcestershire.

‘We have three major radio stations – that’s Kiss, Capital and Radio One – and once you’ve done promo for all three of those, you’ve pretty much promoted your single on radio.

‘Whereas in the States, you have at least three per state so you’re having to go to each one, building relationships, meeting presenters, so I felt really lucky that I actually managed to get on television.

‘I did KTLA which is LA’s news programme when I was over there, which was really nice and also very funny trying to get everyone to pronounce Worcestershire because Americans can’t.’

Fresh off a flight from her next charts target, the artist shared what her experience performing Stateside had been like so far.

‘I came back from LA, San Francisco and Montreal two days ago. The shows over there have been incredible. They really make me feel like I’m onto something.

‘You get told about how difficult breaking America is because of how big it is so when I go there, I always feel very lucky that I get such a good crowd reaction.

‘I did a headline show at The Fonda [Theatre in LA], which I think eventually sold out and yeah it’s been amazing.’

As for world domination? Becky admitted she wanted a global tour and ‘to get some face-time in Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

‘That’s the focus for me next year. I just want to start getting out and seeing other people in different territories and connecting with people on a massive scale.’

Parking her international aspirations for one night, the star thrilled a select group of guests as she serenaded them on the rooftop of Canopy by Hilton London City as part of Hilton’s Secret Socials.

The star-studded event has been taken over by the likes of Stormzy and Kylie Minogue and following her show, the Wish You Well hitmaker reflected on how she felt about joining that roster.

‘I was a bit worried because it was a secret, I thought I’d come out and people would be like, “Who?” but luckily everybody knew who I was and what my songs were.

‘It was a really intimate show and as it was all a secret, nobody knew that I was coming. Nobody knew that I was going to be there, so it was nice to share that reaction in real-time with the people of Hilton.’
