has revealed that ‘beautiful memories’ of her parents have helped her deal with, and overcome, the effects of long-term problems.

The superstar singer and actress, 42, has shared for the first time in a brand new interview that, ever since she was a little girl, .

Psoriasis is a , dry, and painful in some circumstances – it can appear anywhere on the body but is commonly found on the elbows, scalp, hands, or knees.

While not much is known about the cause of psoriasis, nor its associated conditions such as psoriatic arthritis, doctors believe it is related to problems with the immune system.

And for the first time, with the condition ever since childhood, adding that her parents – especially her dad – used to help her.

Speaking to , she said: ‘I have many beautiful memories attached to my hair. The relationship we have with our hair is such a deeply personal journey.’

‘From spending my childhood in my mother’s salon to my father applying oil on my scalp to treat my psoriasis— these moments have been sacred to me.’

The Crazy In Love singer opened up about her history with the condition as she unveiled her new hair care line, Cécred.

‘I think that connection of community, mother and child, father and child, and respect – and allowing yourself to be taken care of, especially for Black women, who are always taking care of everyone else – it’s all sacred.’

It’s not the first time the Break My Soul singer has been candid about medical conditions she’s dealt with.
