Bill Bailey to take on 100 mile charity walk in honour of Sean Lock to mark one year since his death

has revealed he will be taking on a 100-mile walk for Macmillan Cancer Support to mark the one-year anniversary of Sean Lock’s death. 

The after battling in private, leading to an outpouring of grief from his friends and fans. 

Bill shared a , which has already amassed almost £22,000 in donations, as he revealed how he plans to mark the first anniversary of Sean’s death. 

He wrote: ‘This August, it will be one year since we lost the brilliant comedian, and to cancer.

‘I will be taking on a 100-mile walk along a section of the South West Coast Path to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support who provided such wonderful support for Sean and his family. 

‘On the 7-day walk from Bude in Cornwall to Combe Martin in Devon, one of our favourite routes, I will be joined by Sean’s family and friends.

‘The walk will be a chance to get together and celebrate his life while doing something he loved so much.’

Bill added: ‘Every penny donated will help Macmillan to provide emotional, physical and financial support for people living with cancer in the UK.’

News of the much-loved star’s death had been shared by his agent last year, in a statement reading: ‘It is with great sadness that we have to announce the death of Sean Lock. He died at home from cancer, surrounded by his family.

‘Sean was one of Britain’s finest comedians, his boundless creativity, lightning wit and the absurdist brilliance of his work, marked him out as a unique voice in British comedy.

‘Sean was also a cherished husband and father to three children. Sean will be sorely missed by all that knew him.’
