Brian Dowling announces baby joy with husband Arthur Gourounlian amid surrogacy journey

and his husband Arthur Gourounlian have announced they are expecting a baby.

The former 43, and Dancing With The Stars judge husband Arthur have been married for seven years but kept their baby journey private.

Now the pair are preparing to welcome their first child together later this year.

TV presenter Brian took to Instagram on Thursday where he announced the news with a joyous post and video on Instagram, which features the moment they learn they are expecting.

In the video, Arthur speaks to the camera where he says they’re about to learn whether their surrogate is pregnant – before Brian is heard rushing into the room and shouting ‘WE’RE F***ING PREGNANT!’

A second clip shows a scan of their future child with the happy couple in awe over seeing their baby on the screen.

Writing alongside the sweet video, Brian wrote: ‘It COMPLETELY FILLS OUR HEARTS @gourounlian to be able to reveal we are PREGNANT & due to our BEAUTIFUL bundle of joy later this year.’

He admitted that the couple ‘never thought this day would be a reality for us’, saying they felt ‘lucky and blessed’ to be expecting a child.

‘For a lot of us out there & especially people from our community we have to fight harder & push harder for what others consider to be something that can be achieved easily (sic).’

He revealed that he and Arthur had to keep ‘the BIGGEST secret’ over the last few months and they have been living with ‘the BIGGEST SMILES in our HEARTS & on our FACES.’

‘We can’t wait to meet you, hug you & LOVE YOU for the rest of our lives ? Baby Dowling Gourounlian is on the way people.’

The gorgeous video and caption sent messages of support flooding from friends, family and fans, with Girls Aloud legend Nadine Coyle writing: ‘This will be the luckiest baby coming into the most wonderful home!!!

‘Congratulations ? all 3 of of you on your adventures together!! (sic)’

Irish radio icon Carl Mullan added:’Oh my god ???❤️❤️❤️ massive congrats you’re going to be the absolute best parents.’

And TV chef Donal Skehan added: ‘We are so ready for this! So excited for you both! MASSIVE CONGRATS!’

Brian and Arthur, who live in Kildare, Ireland, tied the knot shortly after Ireland introduced same-sex marriage by popular vote in 2015.

A trailblazer in the LGBTQ+ community, Brian first shot to fame when he won Big Brother in 2001 at the age of 23.

He went on to clinch a spot on SM:TV, becoming the first openly gay man to be a kid’s TV presenter.

Speaking exclusively with Metro.co.uk i an interview last year, Brian admitted that at the time he ‘didn’t see that as a really big thing.’

‘Looking back on it now, you go “Oh my god I was only 23 when I did that, I had no idea what I was doing.”

‘It was a massive thing for ITV to do.’
