Previous winner Amber Davies was the proudest sister as she cheered on sibling Jade’s group Welsh of the West End during Friday night’s Britain’s Got Talent semi-final.
Amber, 28, alongside ex-boyfriend on the ITV2’s 2017 edition, has had her own fair share of theatrical roles in recent years.
She appeared in the West End adaptation of ’s 9 To 5: The Musical alongside Louise Redknapp and back in 2019.
But it was sibling Jade’s group who stole the show this week on the talent competition, as the choir narrowly missed out on a place in Sunday night’s finale.
Welsh of the West End wowed in the semi-final with a performance of You Will Be Found from the musical Dear Evan Hansen.
The judges were impressed too, as Amanda told the group: ‘Oh my goodness me – a solid, flawless, beautiful performance.
‘I adore that song. Your harmonies were perfect.’
Simon shared: I was literally with some new friends I’ve met who are from Wales and I was talking about how Wales has some amazing singers and you proved the point.
‘What I love about you is you know who you are and the direction you want to go down and you choose great songs and you have great harmonies. You were fantastic, well done.’
David Walliams also offered up his compliments, adding: ‘It’s just a brilliant idea this group. Obviously, you have this incredible passion for the music you sing. I’m sure this could be a show in itself – the greatest singers in the West End all together and as a bonus, they’re all Welsh.’
Jade has also been supported by her boyfriend Luke Newton, who was in the audience in the live show alongside Amber and her boyfriend Nick Kyriacou.
Fans will recognise Luke as the star who plays Colin Bridgerton in hit Netflix series Bridgerton.
He previously took to Instagram to share how proud he was of his girlfriend, posting a collection of videos of the audition, writing: ‘Blown away @jadeydavies @welshofthewestend.’
Unfortunately, , with comedian Axel Blake and environmentalist Aneeshwar Kunchula securing spots in the finale.
Axel, who was Simon Cowell’s Golden Buzzer act, won the public vote, while the judges chose to send through Aneeshwar unanimously.
