In the wake of his split from wife , is gearing up to star in an upcoming action blockbuster.
Directed by Freaks and Geeks’ Paul Feig, Grand Death Lotto is set to see , 29, in an undisclosed role alongside the likes of , Simu Liu, and Awkwafina.
Described as an action comedy, the film is also set to star Seann William Scott, Leslie David Baker, and Ayden Mayeri among its star-studded cast.
A synopsis for the film teases what fans can expect from the film, saying: ‘In the very near future, the Grand Lottery has been established in economically challenged California. The only catch? Kill the winner before sundown, and you can legally claim their prize.
‘New LA transplant Katie (Awkwafina) accidentally finds herself with the winning ticket and must join forces with amateur jackpot protector Noel (John Cena) to make it to sundown in order to claim her multi-billion dollar prize, all while dealing with Noel’s protection rival Louis Lewis (Simu Liu), who also wants to get her to sundown in order to claim his rich protection commission.’
A release date for the film has not been confirmed, though Amazon has confirmed the Prime Video platform is where it will stream as it is an Amazon Studios production.
It isn’t the first time Asghari has hit the big screen with previous roles in 2022 film Hot Seat alongside Mel Gibson and Shannen Doherty.
The actor has also appeared in the likes of Can You Keep a Secret?, Hacks, and Black Monday.
His first role came in 2016 when he starred in the music video for Work From Home by Fifth Harmony and Ty Dolla Sign.
In the same year, he appeared in pop icon Spears, 41, music video for Slumber Party, later striking up a relationship and tying the knot in 2022.
However, just a year since they wed, Asghari and Spears have announced they are getting divorced.
After their six-year relationship, court documents filed on Wednesday for the divorce, and added they had separated three weeks ago.
The pair are now allegedly , according to TMZ’s sources.
