It was only a matter of time before Gwyneth Paltrow went viral after her bizarre testimony during the equally bizarre ski trial, and Busy Philipps didn’t hesitate to mock the actress.

The on Friday in her civil case after being sued by a retired doctor at an exclusive ski resort in Utah in 2016.

Paltrow, 50, denies being the person who hit the plaintiff, Terry Sanderson, who is said to have suffered significant brain injuries. The actress is in turn countersuing Sanderson for $1 (81p) and claims he was the one who crashed into her.

Sanderson originally filed a lawsuit for $3million (£2.4million) but is now seeking $300,000 (£245,000) after the initial request was dismissed by a judge.

When asked about the ‘losses’ she suffered as a result of the incident, Paltrow replied in court: ‘Well, we lost half a day of skiing.’

The comment immediately went viral on social media with fans roasting the actress, while her fellow Hollywood star Busy, 43, also got in on the action.

The former Cougar Town actress shared a selfie of her posing with a friend while holding cocktail glasses.

She cheekily captioned the snap: ‘Well, we lost a half day of skiing.’

Twitter users were just as entertained by the trial as Busy, with one reacting: ‘“Well, I lost half a day of skiing…” —Gwyneth Paltrow I mean, this whole “trial” is bat-s**t crazy. Makes me kinda miss the vagina candle and the $12K vibrator.’

Another quipped sarcastically: ‘My heart truly goes out to Gwyneth Paltrow who lost half a day of skiing.’

‘Poor Gwyneth Paltrow she missed half a day of skiing and lost out on so much money on vacation tf tone deaf,’ another chimed in.

One commentator joked: ‘Catching up on Gwyneth Paltrow case and spoiled for choice who to empathise with. Gwyneth lost half a day’s skiing, the plaintiff can no longer enjoy wine tastings. Has the universe experienced such suffering before?!’

During her testimony last week, Paltrow described herself as an ‘intermediate’ skier, and said she was aware that if involved in a collision, skiers were required to leave their contact information but that her ski instructor Eric Christiansen had left hers for her.

‘So because I was hit by Mr Sanderson and he was at fault I assume that Eric…who was there at the time, he said I’m going to leave all of your information, because my kids were waiting for me,’ she said.

‘I would not have left the scene without leaving my information and my information was left (by Eric)…subsequently I know that he did. I was not there when it was given.’

She also denied that she had been engaging in ‘risky behaviour’ on the day of the collision.

‘I was not engaging in any risky behaviour. I would not engage in risky behaviour with or without my children being there,’ she said.

The trial continues.
