Cher has branded Vladimir Putin ‘pure evil’ in a scathing post over ’s invasion of .

After US leader said that in a powerful speech over the weekend, the Believe singer said that he should be ‘executed’ for his actions.

Taking to Twitter, the 75-year-old penned: ‘WE’RE WATCHING Putin TRYING 2 OBLITERATE UKRAINE OUT OF REVENGE, Same As Rome Laid Waste 2 Carthage. 

‘PUTIN IS PURE EVIL, & I’D GO FARTHER THAN JOE.

‘Putin SHOULD BE EXECUTED 4 TRYING 2 DESTROY UKRAINE, & BRUTALLY BOMB, STARVE, MAIM, & MURDER, MEN, WOMEN, INNOCENT CHILDREN, & INFANTS. D2T [sic].’

Cher also joined the many people amid the conflict.

Since Putin ordered the invasion last month, in order to find safety elsewhere.

In a recent tweet, the musician said that she would sponsor families to stay in her property – and called for others in similar positions to do the same.

‘I Would Like to Sponsor Ukrainian Families in My Home,’ she tweeted. ‘They Would Be Safe & Cared For.

‘MANY PEOPLE IN MY POSITION NEED TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE. IF I WAS ALONE OR WITH MY CHILDREN, & WE WERE TRAUMATIZED, I WOULD HOPE SOMEONE LIKE ME TO TAKE CARE OF US.’

Cher’s words come after President Biden called out the Russian leader in a speech, appealing directly to the people of Russia,

Appearing in front of the Royal Castle in Warsaw, he said: ‘A dictator bent on rebuilding an empire will never erase a people’s love for liberty.

‘Brutality will never grind down their will to be free. Ukraine will never be a victory for Russia, for free people refused to live in a world of hopelessness and darkness.

‘We will have a different future, a brighter future, rooted in democracy and principle, hope and light, of decency and dignity, of freedom and possibilities.

‘For God’s sake, this man cannot remain in power.’

He added: ‘In this hour, let the words of Pope John Paul burn as brightly today – never, ever give up hope, never doubt, never tire, never become discouraged. Be not afraid.’
