Chris Evans hopes to see end of ‘struggle’ ahead of cancer treatment

shared some powerful words on Wednesday, a day before beginning treatment.

Last month the 57-year-old broadcaster , eight years after he had previously been given the all-clear following a prostate cancer scare in 2015.

He also confirmed he would be having a mark on his leg removed on September 14.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, the star shared an uplifting selfie alongside the words: ‘Struggle ends where gratitude begins.’

In the photo, Chris beamed from ear to ear while posing next to a river at sunset, suggesting he’s feeling positive ahead of the procedure.

Chris previously confirmed that the cancer had been and was confident in a full recovery.

Explaining the mark would be removed on September 14, Chris said: ‘It’s as treatable as cancer can be to the extent that they call it “stage zero”,’ according .

The doting dad also revealed on his skin initially.

Claiming his fair skin being ‘covered in freckles’ had never worried him before, the presenter revealed it was his masseuse who urged him to have a freckle on his calf 

During a chat on TalkTV with Mike Graham, Chris shared more details on his diagnosis and told the story of how his abnormal freckle was discovered.

He explained: ‘The lady who did my massage spotted this mark on my left calf six weeks ago and she said, “Have you noticed this before?”

‘She said, “I think you should get it checked out. I don’t think it’s anything, but you know I see a lot of this, this is what I do for a living, I look at people’s skin, I’m in contact with them all the time” and she said, “I’ve seen a few things over the years and that’s something you might want to get checked out”.’

The host continued: ‘The next Friday I went back and she said, “What did they say about the freckle?” I said I didn’t go, and she gave me this different look, more maternal look. 

‘I think I was going to do something about it anyway, but she gave me a look just six days after the first time. She said, “Do it for me. Go and get this checked out” and I thought, “Yeah absolutely of course I will”.’
