has been spotted out on a break from filming , and a new look could indicate a major change for Tommy Shelby.

The Irish actor was enjoying a trip in Manchester, but it wasn’t his purchases that garnered attention, but instead what lay beneath his hat.

For the occasion, Cillian, 48, chose a black woolly beanie (not a flat cap), and poking from beneath it was lighter hair. While Cillian usually has dark locks, the hue was distinctively lighter.

The change comes as Cillian is filming for the in the north-west. Production began in September, so perhaps Tommy Shelby will enter his blonde era? The first official teaser picture seems to indicate this too, with perhaps some grey tones too.

Whether the different style is intentional for the role, a downtime choice, or just a natural change in hair colour, one thing’s for certain – Cillian looks well!

Fittingly, the person who joined him for retail therapy was his hairstylist Gareth Bromell, who could have been responsible for the new look.

To hit the shops, Cillian wore a chic outfit of black jeans, hoody, and shoes which he paired with a dark green coat. The star also chose to put on a face mask.

He carried a bag from men’s fashion and accessory brand Rivet & Hide, who’ll no doubt be happy that Cillian has chosen their designs.

Excitement is mounting for Cillian’s return to play the Birmingham gangster once again, and to say the rise (and fall) of his family.

He originally led the cast in 2013, and it ran for six seasons, before wrapping up in 2022.

The fans’ appetite for the Shelby clan led to Netflix commissioning a film version of the British period crime drama, which was announced earlier this year. Once again, creator will be at the helm to ensure it retains the original appeal.

Details have been kept closely under wraps; however, has .

The Line of Duty star, 51, played Hayden Stagg in the sixth and final season, a union convenor who was stealing opium in storage at the Salthouse docks in Liverpool.

The show’s creator Steven addressed the ‘mind-blowing’ cast during the RTS London Convention, noting that the film is ‘set in the Second World War and it’s really good’.

‘I’m thrilled to see the cameras rolling on this new chapter of the Peaky Blinders story, set during World War II,’ Knight previously teased to Netflix. ‘The country is at war, and so, of course, are our Peaky Blinders.’

On returning to the role, Cillian said: ‘It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me. This is one for the fans.’

Peaky Blinders is streaming on BBC iPlayer and Netflix.
