CM Punk is set for his first match in a decade but fans around the world won’t be able to tune in.
The former world champion made a sensational return to the company when he came out in front of a hometown crowd in .
On this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw he and confirmed his entry into the 2024 Royal Rumble at the end of January.
However, it turns out Punk will be in action very soon as he joins in WWE’s annual festive run of shows before the end of the year.
As announced by the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, the Voice of the Voiceless will be in action against ‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio on Saturday, December 30.
Unfortunately for fans not lucky enough to be in the venue that night, the match won’t be airing on television as it’s part of the WWE Live Holiday Tour, which don’t get broadcast.
Fans were surprised to see the match announced for an untelevised ‘house show’ rather than Raw or a premium live event, but it’s not stopped people getting excited.
‘CM Punk’s first wwe live event match since return.. Let’s go! But i need this match on Raw… 🔥,’ wrote X (formerly Twitter) user @Friendly_guy238.
Fan @oliviaxwlrd asked ‘Why isn’t this on tv?’, with @DawgVanDam quick to respond: ‘Saving that for the Rumble, gives Punk a chance to get warmed up for the rumble.’
And another fan, @ExConDom1238, agreed as they added: ‘Probably to shake off ring rust before wrestling on TV.’
The match will mark Punk’s first WWE bout since since the 2014 Royal Rumble, while he last singles match saw him beat Billy Gunn on Monday night Raw a week earlier on January 20.
The last time he wrestled for any company was in August this year, when he beat longtime friend and rival Samoa Joe in the opening clash of AEW All In London at Wembley Stadium.
He was  early in September following a backstage altercation at Wembley, only to shock the world by returning to WWE months later.
