Comedian files for divorce days before fourth wedding anniversary

comedian and actress has filed for from her husband, days before their wedding anniversary.

winner Griffin, 63 – full name Kathleen Mary Griffin – and tour manager Randy Bick have cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for their relationship’s demise.

Court documents filed to the Superior Court of California on Thursday (December 28) said the couple separated three days before and just over a week before they were set to mark four years of marriage on January 1.

Griffin’s lawyer Joseph Kibre has requested the court enforce the ‘premarital agreement’ which was signed on December 23, 2019, ahead of their wedding day, the documents show.

She was inundated with messages of support on X, with David Buchan replying: ‘So sorry, sweetie! You know you will hurt, survive – and then thrive. You have been an inspiration to many! Wishing you the best’.

Griffin married Bick in a 2020 ceremony that was officiated by actress Lily Tomlin, having been in a relationship since 2011.

She was previously married to actor Matt Moline from 2001 to 2006.

In the wake of their split and, she accused her former husband of stealing from her on Larry King Live in 2006, Kathy has channelled her troubles into her performances.

The is known for her stand-up material, winning two Emmy awards for outstanding reality programme in 2007 and 2008 for her show Kathy Griffin: My Life On The D-List.

She also won a Grammy award in 2014 for her comedy album Calm Down Gurrl.

Griffin also appeared in programmes including Suddenly Susan alongside Brooke Shields, and The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air with Will Smith.

She holds a Guinness World Record for the most televised comedy specials by any comedian in history, which she achieved in June 2013.

In August 2021, the Illinois-born star revealed she had been diagnosed with lung cancer ‘even though I’ve never smoked’ and was to have surgery to remove a part of the affected area.

She later revealed she was cancer-free on an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!

She said at the time that she believes her condition began in 2017, which is when she made headlines worldwide and received an onslaught of criticism for posing with a mask of former President Donald Trump covered in fake blood.

Griffin added that her cancer diagnosis ‘didn’t help’ her mental health.
