legend Conchita Wurst has revealed her favourite track from this year’s competition, as well as the act she’s harbouring a crush on.
The 2014 winner, who , is a major fan of the competition, and has descended on Liverpool to watch it as a fan.
Metro.co.uk caught up with the star ahead of the Grand Finals to be held on Saturday, where she talked about her intense fans, – and the heartbreakingly relatable way she plans to cope with the end of this year’s competition.
Describing her Eurovision experience as ‘beyond beautiful,’ Conchita went on to face quick-fire questions from Metro.co.uk’s Torin Gillies, where she was asked who her Eurovision crush is in the competition this year.
And after a grin and a shy, ‘I don’t know,’ she admitted it was Finland rising star Kaarija, who is among the favourites to clinch the trophy this year.
The Finnish star has made waves in this year’s competition with his track Cha Cha Cha, and has gained an army of fans – maybe of whom, we’re ready to bet, are also harbouring a crush on the quirky 29-year-old.
Conchita, 34, also has big plans for when the Song Contest comes to an end this year – and we reckon she won’t be alone.
‘I will be crying,’ she admitted.
‘Sobbing – with a drink in my hand!’
She has a serious soft spot for Loreen’s Tattoo – another favourite to win this year – as she revealed it was the Eurovision song she was most likely to sing in the shower.
And despite being in high, thin stilettos, she even gave her best impression of Riverdance – even as she warned she was going to ‘break my feet.’
The star was left in bits when she heard the conspiracy theory that she and BBC presenter Rylan Clark were secretly the same person, proclaiming ‘I don’t know how that works … we have been in the same room several times!’
Which sounds just like something someone pretending not to be Rylan would say…
She went on to heap praise on the BBC presenter, saying he was doing ‘an amazing job for the Eurovision community as a presenter and as a host, and we’re very happy to have him.’
Conchita made headlines last year for declaring UK act Sam Ryder’s incredible vocals were ‘unfair,’ and doubled down on her praise this week as she labeled him ‘incredible.’
‘Just once more, what a talent,’ she said.
‘And not just talented but also hard-working. You feel he puts a lot of effort in his voice and technique and his music, and I mean he is selling out every venue he’s going to. Incredible.’
