It’s been confirmed that after the star’s exit, Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards will take his place in the line-up.
In a statement, Eddie said: ‘It’s bittersweet as whilst I’m delighted to be taking part in the new series I’m gutted for Stephen and wish him a speedy recovery.
‘Dancing on Ice is a show I’ve always wanted to do. It’s a challenge I think I’m going to relish!’
Eddie – born Michael David Edwards – is best-known for taking the world by storm by becoming the first skiier to represent Great Britain in Olympic ski jumping.
The now-59-year-old gained legendary status thanks to his inspiring career, which was depicted in the 2016 film, with Taron Egerton playing him.

It was revealed that the reality TV star had broken his ankle, and on the advice of medical professionals he left the show.
A spokesperson for ITV said at the time: ‘Stephen Lustig-Webb has had to withdraw from the show due to an injury he sustained to his ankle during training.
‘He is still very much a part of the Dancing On Ice family, we will be helping to support Stephen and we wish him well with his recovery.’

He was seen walking with crutches while his leg was in a large cast.
Despite temperatures dropping this autumn, Stephen was wearing a pair of shorts and a T-shirt for his outing.
However, he did have a gilet on to layer up a little bit, while accessorising with a cap.
It was claimed by a source to thethat Stephen was ‘gutted’ that he could no longer be a part of the line-up.
