Reality star Stephen, 52, sustained a break to his left ankle and on the advice of the medical professionals has had to leave the competition. Â
A spokesperson for Dancing On Ice said: ‘Stephen Lustig-Webb has had to withdraw from the show due to an injury he sustained to his ankle during training.
‘He is still very much a part of the Dancing On Ice family, we will be helping to support Stephen and we wish him well with his recovery.’
Stephen left Channel 4 series Gogglebox to pursue other opportunities, which started with the ITV skating reality show.
A source told the that Stephen is ‘gutted’ about his early exit.
They claim the incident took place on Wednesday when Stephen ‘turned on his skates’ and ‘snapped his ankle’. He was then rushed to the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth.
The medical team informed Stephen that he would now be on crutches for at least three months.
It is claimed by the publication that Stephen had metal plates put into his ankle during an operation.
His participation in the series during an episode of Lorraine.
Speaking about his inclusion, an excited and nervous Stephen said: ‘The last time I was on the ice I think I was 14 (years old) so almost 40 years ago.’
Stephen and his husband, left Gogglebox in September.
Stephen said in a statement: ‘We feel the time is right to move on and explore other opportunities.
‘We would both like to thank Channel 4 and Studio Lambert for letting us be part of this amazing, funny and heartwarming show.’
