has opened up on having a ‘crazy few months’ as a first-time dad.
The 33-year-old actor 38, in April, and although the pair have been keeping their family life under wraps, he’s now given a glimpse into fatherhood.
explained that his new role is the ‘best thing’ that has ever happened to him, while revealing that the little one has stopped screaming so much and learned how to smile.
He said: ‘He’s very cute. We’ve moved into a less screaming phase and he’s now giving us little smiles and giggling.
‘It’s been a crazy few months, as anyone who’s been through parenthood would attest.’
He continued to: ‘But it’s also the literal best thing that’s ever happened, so it’s great. I feel very lucky to be able to have this time with him. It’s awesome.’
This comes after the Women in Black actor insisted that while fatherhood hasn’t had an impact on the type of roles he goes for just yet, he does plan to take on fewer projects over the next few years so he can spend more time with his little boy.
He told ET: ‘It hasn’t really yet affected things, but I really like spending time with him, and I think I’m gonna miss him when I go back to work later in the year.
‘So, I will definitely be I think a bit more selective, not more selective, I’ve always been selective, but I think I’ll probably work a little bit less for the next few years.’
This is one of the few times Daniel has spoken about his little arrival, after paparazzi pictures confirmed Erin had given birth after they were seen pushing a pram.

They first met while working together on Kill Your Darlings in 2012, with Daniel previously joking about what it’ll be like to tell their children in the future.
Speaking to People in 2020 about how they got together, he said: ‘It’ll be a hell of a story to tell our kids one day because of what our characters do with each other.
‘Our characters are meeting and flirting with each other, so there is this kind of sweet record of us just meeting for the first time and flirting.’
