reposted a fans tweet that alerted the star to a fakeprofile that was using her pictures to meet potential matches.
The 64-year-old Loose Women panellist was tickled by news on the popular dating app.
Sharing the post that contained a screenshot of the false profile, Denise added the caption: ‘Best tweet ever in life!!! It says apparently……I’ve been alone for a while.
‘I’m curious and would like to be surprised and have a nice conversation.’
She followed up the message with a string of laughing emojis and reposted a meme in the next slide that featured a picture of the star in an all-green ensemble and brown boots with a caption that read: ‘Him: you better not be Denise Welch dressed as Robin Hodd when I get there’.
The fake profile was named Gabi and used an up-close selfie of the famous face wearing red lipstick.
Listing her age as 62, the catfish added a description in German underneath their name.
The fan that uncovered the faux Denise Tinder account posted the screengrab to Twitter and penned a message of disbelief that said: ‘Obsessed with someone from work travelling across Europe and stumbling across a German catfishing as Denise Welch’.
Denise is happily married to her husband of 10 years Lincoln Townley and has a – of the band The 1975 – with her former partner Tim Healy.
Her hilarious discovery came after she marked on Instagram earlier this week.
Posting a side-by-side collage of her face – one from her years drinking alcohol and a fresh portrait from recent years – the star offered fans an update on her alcohol-free life.
She explained: ‘11 yrs sober today!!! Giving up my disastrous relationship with alcohol changed my life, my husbands life and my children’s lives. Plus the lives of all who love me.
‘It wasn’t easy. Addiction is a cruel and frightening illness. But together @lincolntownley and I realised that we were destroying many lives including our own and we did it.
‘I now have a wonderful marriage that is the foundation of my life. Our kids are happy and I hope those of you struggling find the strength to stop.
‘If alcohol no longer makes you happy, if your drinking makes others lives miserable it’s time to stop.
‘There is help there if you need it [sic].’
