The Woman hitmaker – real name Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini – recently tweeted that her whole throat was ‘f****d’ and was scheduled to support the Blinding Lights singer, 32, this summer.
Taking to social media, she wrote: ‘Hi guys, I wanted you to hear it from me first. Unfortunately I have to have surgery on my tonsils ASAP. The surgery is routine but the recovery is going to take awhile due to swelling.
‘That means I have to cancel my festival run this summer as well as The Weeknd tour. I feel horrible about this but can’t wait for this to heal and get back to making music and create an experience for y’all.’
Doja’s loyal fans rushed to wish her a speedy recovery, with one writing: ‘We’re praying for a speedy recovery!! take all the time you need, your health comes first <33.’
‘We love you doja hope you have a fast & easy recovery,’ another added.
In one of her latest tweets, the Say So singer, 26, explained that her tonsils were infected before the 2022 Billboard Music Awards last Sunday, and forgot to take antibiotics, ‘but forgot that I was taking them and then I drank wine and was vaping all day long.
‘I’m quitting the vape for a while and hopefully I don’t crave it anymore after that,’ she added.
‘I was literally staring at my vape today that normally I’d hit a thousand times a day and hit it two times instead.
‘I’ma try to go cold turkey for now but hopefully my brain doesn’t need it at all by then.’
In March, the musician issued a scathing message on social media, claiming she’s ‘quitting music’ after due to extreme weather conditions.
After fans seemingly complained about waiting in the rain to meet the superstar, she took to social media.
‘I don’t give a f**k anymore i f**kin quit i can’t wait to f**king disappear and i don’t need you to believe in me anymore,’ she said.
