Kid Rock has claimed that Donald Trump sought his advice on North Korea during his presidency.
The Picture singer opened up , explaining that they still get together to play golf.
Appearing on Fox News, the 51-year-old told Tucker Carlson of the moment he was questioned over what action should be taken over North Korea.
He recalled a time when they were ‘looking at maps’, when he questioned: ‘I’m like, “Am I supposed to be in on this s**t?”
‘Like I make dirty records sometimes. I do.’
‘“What do you think we should do about North Korea?” I’m like, “What? I don’t think I’m qualified to answer this”.’
Not only that, Mr Trump reportedly got his opinion on some tweets before sending them out in the world on his now-removed Twitter account.
The pair first became pals when Sarah Palin invited Kid – real name Robert James Ritchie – to dinner at the White House, as the businessman-turned-politician wanted ‘interesting’ guests.
‘It’s really weird to get phone calls from him and stuff. It’s kind of mind blowing,’ he said of their bond.
‘He just knows how to have fun.
‘Doesn’t take it too seriously. He’s engaging. He’s just cutting it up, open with politics.’
The musician’s comments come after the ex-Apprentice host , admitting he initially thought it was only Russian President Vladimir Putin’s ‘smart way to negotiate’.
‘I’m surprised – I’m surprised. I thought he was negotiating when he sent his troops to the border. I thought he was negotiating,’ Trump told the Washington Examiner. ‘I thought it was a tough way to negotiate but a smart way to negotiate.
‘I figured he was going to make a good deal like everybody else does with the United States and the other people they tend to deal with – you know, like every trade deal. We’ve never made a good trade deal until I came along.
‘And then he went in – and I think he’s changed. I think he’s changed. It’s a very sad thing for the world. He’s very much changed.’
