In a segment filmed for her chat show, which she shared to her Instagram account on Friday, tagging Britney, Drew was seen discussing the star’s post, which singled her and actress out as rendering Britney ‘speechless’ when she met them, with her colleague Ross Mathews.
Revealing that she had been accosted by staff on the show while they were filming when Britney originally posted her tribute on Wednesday, Drew explained that she told them she would take a look ‘when I get upstairs’.
‘I wanna be like thoughtful. I wanna read every word that she says,’ she said, adding: ‘I really want to choose my words the right way.’
The Toxic chart-topper posted photos of Drew and Kate on her Instagram earlier in the week, captioning the upload: ‘PS I will tell you guys a little secret ? … I’ve met 1000s of celebrities in the business … but I have to say the 2 people where I literally went speechless were @katehudson and @drewbarrymore…

Drew then joked: ‘She managed to do it, now I gotta figure it out, but really when you put your words out there Britney Spears, we’re all listening, so I’m really excited for your book.’
The 47-year-old also reflected on ‘having some unique journeys in common’ as she described her feelings towards the Stronger hitmaker as ‘beautiful’.
‘We have some unique journeys in common, and I don’t posture to know her or understand her or say I like her, or that our journeys align, but there is just a tremendous amount of understanding and empathy that I have for her.
‘It’s hard for me to put into words the way I feel about her but it is beautiful.’
