has opened up about her family life with daughters Frankie and Olive, revealing the one strict rule she has in place for her kids.

Throwing open the doors to her stunning Manhattan home – – for a new interview, the Drew Barrymore Show host lifted the lid on her efforts.
‘We watch a ton of movies and shows so I’m not judging anyone about screens,’ she told. ‘But when it comes to my kids, I’m not a huge fan of personal electronics, like iPads. During the pandemic when schools were virtual we were forced into all being on our separate devices and I didn’t like it.
‘Now, I keep the iPads in a locked safe and they only come out for special occasions. I’d rather that the three of us all pile into my bed and watch together.’
Drew, who has led the way in ET, Blended, Never Been Kissed and nailed an incredible cameo in Scream, famously took a back seat from the spotlight when she became a mom.
Reflecting on the pause in her career, she continued: ‘When I started having kids, I didn’t want to be playing characters and pretending to be different people. Everything changed for me. I just couldn’t do it.’
It is clear that the Hollywood favorite has maintained a close bond with Frankie and Olive, as she added to the outlet: ‘I have a tattoo that says “home is where we are”, and it’s true.
‘Wherever I am with my girls I feel like I’m at home. Even if we’re just at a restaurant, I pour out the contents of my bag – my camera, my crossword puzzle, my lip balm, my book, a deck of cards – and we’re right at home.’
However, Drew made headlines last year when she opened up about her traditions in December, admitting that she doesn’t actually buy the little ones any gifts for Christmas.
Speaking to Travel + Leisure, the mom-of-two admitted she wanted to focus on experiences over possessions, explaining: ‘I am one of those mothers that sounds like a mean Scrooge because I don’t buy them presents.
‘I always take them somewhere because I want to show them a life experience. Memory building for me is so important. So I’ve never really done presents under the tree.’
