Despite having his own slot on GB News, the host admitted he wouldn’t turn down a possible return, under one condition.

‘I’m not stupid. I know that in this industry it’s not about what I want to do,’ he added.

‘None of us have a right to be in a job. It’s about what the channels want to do.’

While the broadcaster seems happy in his new gig, he previously alleged that show bosses made it look as if, but he insisted that he simply had ‘no idea’.

‘I’m all for TV companies being able to choose who works for them, but it would be nice if you were told why you were going,’ he added.

In response, a spokesperson for ITV said in a statement sent to Metro.co.uk: ‘This isn’t a version of events that we recognise and as we have said before we wish Eamonn all of the very best.’

During Wednesday’s Tric Awards 2022, Eamonn told Metro.co.uk and other media in the winners’ room that in his view, , and he was ‘just putting the record straight’.

Dubbing ITV’s press office ‘the ministry of lies’, he emphasised: ‘I did not resign from ITV, ITV resigned from me,’ adding that he reportedly ‘never received a single explanation once of why they wanted to get rid of me’.

‘So that was that, no matter what you’ve been told. Also, the sort of stuff that comes out – “Eamonn believes he’s male, pale and stale.” Doesn’t look like it, does it? Eamonn never once said that, ITV press office said that,’ he stated.
