Ellie Goulding isn’t going to be participating in one tourist activity any time soon.

The took to to share her disgust at a peculiar zoo activity.

Sharing a video of the attraction in action from animal rights Protect All Wildlife, Ellie commented: ‘Can’t bear this.’

The video shows a seemingly distressed lion growling, and repeatedly clawing a glass cabinet, where two tourists sit taking selfies.

The huge male cat’s ears were pinned back to its head, as it bore its teeth at the two women, who were safe behind the glass.

The women seemed to be in hysterics watching the lion’s frantic efforts to reach them, and one even playfully pawed the glass back at the lion, imitating it.

Seemingly posted by Animal City Lebanon, the clip spread like wildfire on Twitter with many – like Ellie – dubbing the activity as ‘cruel’ and ‘sad’.

‘I find it cruel and frustrating for the lion,’ wrote one, while another said: ‘Good lord this is truly moronic. Lock animals up in cages then bait them for amusement – shockingly hideous.’

Meanwhile wildlife campaigner – who Ellie retweeted – said: ‘Imprisoning & humiliating wild animals is nothing to smile about.’

Supporting Ellie’s stance, one fan said: ‘I don’t think anyone would want this tbh. Disgraceful.’

Another wondered: ‘Omg this is awful, how is it even legal?’

Ellie has always spoken out about climate issues, and wildlife rights, and she was appointed WWF’s ambassador last year.

‘I’m delighted to join WWF as an ambassador because I’m passionate about speaking up for our extraordinary planet,’ she said.

‘I know that the climate crisis and the destruction of nature can feel overwhelming at times, but I promise you when millions of people stand together, and demand change, the dial begins to shift.

‘One thing we know is that every second counts and every second we need to agitate for change. I want to be part of that.’
