The singer, 35, came out earlier this week, saying she feels ‘happier than ever’ in her new relationship.

Emeli has now revealed the identity of her new love, who is a classical pianist she fell for when learning about classical music.
Taking to Twitter to express her gratitude for the warm reception to her coming out, Emeli posted a selfie with ‘soul mate’ Yoana.
The sweet snap shows the couple with beaming smiles on their faces as Yoana wraps a protective arm around the musician, cuddling up.
Writing a lengthy statement alongside the tweet, Emeli began by detailing her struggles in coming out: ‘It’s taken me many years to find the strength to be myself. I’ve struggled for a long time to accept myself as I am.’
‘I’m so lucky to have found my soul mate Yoana, she’s such an extraordinary woman! Falling in love with her has given me the strength I needed,’ she continued lovingly.
The Clown singer added that it ‘feels so good to be in love’ and she is ‘happier than ever.’
‘I’m deeply touched by all your messages of love and support. Thank you so much for your acceptance and kind wishes,’ she shared.
‘Feels like a huge weight has been lifted, here’s to a new beginning in truth an happiness,’ Emeli concluded, followed by a series of emoji, including a Pride flag.
Fans were quick to shower her with love in the comments, especially members of the LGBTQ+ community who wanted to welcome her ‘to the family.’
‘You are phenomenal, beautiful, and talented. Your music held me through some tough times, so know that your village is holding you up right now! So elated for you to have the fullness of joy, love, and acceptance that you deserve. Congratulations,’ tweeted one follower.
Another wrote: ‘Oh Emily, this is wonderful to see! Coming out for me felt impossible at one time, but thankfully so positive, and why shouldn’t we be the happiest truest versions of ourselves?! #loveislove’
Others commented that this was the ‘best news I have read in months’ as they wished the pair ‘every happiness.’
Emeli recently about finding her girlfriend, gushing that it ‘feels great.’
‘For me, true love and having love in your life makes everything fit into place,’ she shared.
Emeli got engaged to longtime partner Adam in 2012 before tying the knot in September of the same year. They announced their split in 2014.
Emeli met Yoana just after lockdown and has introduced her new partner to her parents, who live in Aberdeenshire, where Emeli grew up.
In the best place she’s ever been in, Emeli now prepares to hit the road for her nationwide tour next month.
