Does Emilia Clarke Have Aphasia

Bruce Willis, a well-known Hollywood actor, has announced his retirement from acting because to aphasia. Several artists, including Emilia Clarke, had previously spoken frankly about their difficulties with the illness.

Emilia Clarke : Does She Have Aphasia?

Emilia Clarke has struggled with Aphasia, a debilitating neurological disorder that limits a person’s ability to speak and communicate.

Damage to the left brain, such as from a stroke, a head accident, a brain tumour, infection, or dementia, is the most common cause.

Reading, listening, speaking, typing, and writing impairments are among the signs of the illness. It has an overall negative impact on one’s capacity to communicate.

Anyone suffering from the illness, on the other hand, will not notice any changes in their IQ.

Speech-language therapy and nonverbal communication therapies are recommended treatments for aphasia.

In the past, Hollywood has seen a slew of actors succumb to the disease. Bruce Willis is the most recent individual to speak out against it.

Before Willis and Emilia Clarke, Sharon Stone, Terry Jones, Gabby Giffords, and Patricia Neal had all spoken about their experiences with the condition.

Emilia Clarke’s Aphasia Experience: Reminiscing On Her Stroke Horrors And Brain Surgery

Emilia Clarke wrote about her experience with Aphasia in The New Yorker in 2019.

In February 2011, the actress said that she experienced a subarachnoid haemorrhage due to a burst aneurysm.

She then had endovascular coiling surgery, which resulted in Aphasia. In 2013, she had a second aneurysm surgically repaired.

The actress couldn’t remember her identity two weeks following the surgery. When she tried to converse, she spoke gibberish.

Fortunately, the Aphasia subsided within a week of her ICU admission. She’d been in the hospital bed for over a month.

She then began filming the second season of Game of Thrones, but she was still not fully recovered. A second aneurysm on her brain had been discovered by doctors.

Clarke had a lot of anxiety while filming the second season of Game of Thrones, and she needed a lot of medication to recover.

Emilia Clarke’s Health and Tumor Recovery: How Is She Doing Now?

On the other side of her brain, Emilia Clarke still has a tiny aneurysm. It hadn’t ruptured yet, but it may do so at any time.

The physicians would not operate on her as long as the tumour did not increase. The process should go more smoothly this time than it did the last time.

“I was suffering from a disorder called aphasia, a result of the trauma my brain had undergone,” Clarke wrote in The New Yorker.

“I wanted to pull the plug in my worst moments.” I requested that the medical professionals allow me to die. My profession — and my entire life ambition — revolved around language and communication. I’d be lost without it.”
