A star of has said he’s ‘disgusted’ after accusing a Dominican Republic hotel of forcing him to prove he’s related to his own daughter.
, 32, became a fan favourite during the second series of the romantic reality series in 2022, eventually appearing in seven of the 12 episodes.
After arriving on the beach during the sixth episode, his partner on the series was ’s , with the two staying in the show until the end.
Since his appearance on the show, proud dad Declan has regularly shared photos and videos of him and his daughter on holiday and at premiere events.
On Thursday, however, he was left feeling upset and outraged after allegedly being forced by staff at a Hotel RIU resort to prove his daughter is his.
Declan explained: ‘Disgusted by Hotel RIU and TUI – just had to prove my daughter is mine with our passports because we have “different skin colours”.’
Posting to his Instagram story, he continued: ‘Even though we gave our passports on check in, the hotel manager said she’s an underage girl with a man – it’s odd.’
The Ex on the Beach star then claimed that hotel staff described dad and daughter as ‘looking like a couple’, adding that they ‘don’t look alike’.
Declan then said he’d been left feeling embarrassed because the conversation happened in front of his daughter, who is just 11 years old.
‘I asked if he would do this if it was a single mum and her daughter and [the member of staff] said no’ – no further updates were provided by Declan.
In a statement given to , TUI said: ‘We were extremely sad to hear about Declan’s experience at a RIU hotel. We have zero tolerance for discrimination and this staff member was clearly not meeting TUI’s high standards and expectations.
‘Our on-site service delivery team have been in conversation with Declan to apologise to both him and his daughter for their experience. We immediately moved them from their 4-star hotel to an alternative 5-star resort where support is available for them.
‘We will be investigating the incident, and our team are also getting in touch with Declan to advise him of what options available to him.’
Last year, TV and radio host Rylan Clark saying he was ‘still single’ during his Radio 2 show.
