was two hours late for her own show this morning after she accidentally slept through her alarm blaming the first day of rehearsals.
The singer, who is set to appear on the new season of Strictly, was supposed to be up bright and early for her Hits Radio Breakfast show this morning but after a gruelling day of dancing with the likes of , and , she was out for the count.
She apologised for her tardiness by calling her co-host James Barr and producer Matt, both of whom had gotten to the show on time.
‘I’m so sorry guys but you’ve been holding down the fort really well!’ Fleur said.
‘We filmed the launch show for Strictly yesterday and the adrenaline was pumping, the energy was high, and we finished really, really late. I set both of my alarms but I just slept completely through them. I only woke up Matt when you called me to say where are you?!’ she added.
Fleur managed to arrive at the studio at around 8:04am, and took the time to once again apologise to her team: ‘I have to say I am so, so sorry, this is an official apology from me, I’m sorry I let you down but I was just shimmying and shaking to the wee hours and it knocked me out!’
She then detailed her experience filming Strictly, explaining that they filmed the first dance the night before: ‘We got to dance with everyone else for the first time.
‘It was really cool and I was so amazed by the energy of everybody. Everyone is giving it 100%. No-one is phoning this in and it was so cool to see everyone dance.’
She also admitted that the entire experience was a learning experience for her: ‘I thought I was ready and had all the energy but as soon as the music kicked in and I was facing my partner and the energy they were giving me, I was just “wow I have to step this up and try and match them”. It was intense!’
Fleur is currently the favourite to lift the Glitterball trophy, following last year’s champ Rose Ayling-Ellis who won the 2021 series with her partner Giovanni Pernice.
