Former actor Jonathan Groff has become the latest famous face added to the growing cast of the new season of BBC’s .
The 38-year-old will join the previously announced ’s , ’s and winner Jinkx Monsoon in a ‘mysterious and exciting guest role’.
Jonathan shot to fame in 2010 when he landed the role of Jesse St. James in musical comedy drama Glee.
Since the show ended in 2015, he has been internationally celebrated for his work on-screen, from starring as Eric in the box office hit Knock at the Cabin, to playing Holden Ford in the critically acclaimed series Mindhunter.
He is also renowned for his major voice acting roles in the films as Kristoff.
Jonathan has also made his mark on Broadway, dazzling audiences with his famous performance as King George III in Hamilton, where he was nominated for not only a Tony Award, but also a Primetime Emmy Award for the live stage recording.
Speaking of his new role, Jonathan says: ‘I am so thrilled to jump into the extraordinary mind of Russell T Davies and watch the incredible Ncuti Gatwa soar in this iconic role!’
Showrunner Russell added: ‘This is an incredible coup, and a great honour, to get such a huge star striding on to our set.
‘So strap on your space boots, this is going to be a blast!’

Sci-fi fans have already been treated to the first pictures of new duo Ncuti and Millie in Doctor Who.
Both Millie and Ncuti have stepped back to the 60s in the latest images, with Ncuti wearing a dapper blue and white pine stripe suit.
Meanwhile, Mille’s costume is a black and white mini dress, in the style of the late Mary Quant, with matching boots.
