Globle is the new geography take on Wordle but is it better than Worldle?

Not only are there an ever increasing number of Wordle clones but now the geography based Worldle has a rival too.

The world of Wordle clones is expanding every day and so much so that there are now copies of copies. We’ve already had an unofficial and now there’s a new geography based game called Globle… which works very similarly to Worldle.

was one of the first games to try and use the success of Wordle to create puzzle games with similar mechanics but completely different rules and subject matter.

The idea is that you try to guess the country by its silhouette and if you’re wrong you get clues based on how far away, in miles, it is from your last guess and in what direction. Globle works in a similar way but it’s a bit more hi-tech…

How do you play Globle?

In terms of visuals, Worldle only has a black silhouette and not much else but to play Globle you start off with a 3D globe of the world, which you can spin around and look at however you like.

Although there’s a new country every day you start off in the same way each time, by typing in a country at random and having the globe spin to locate it.

To play Globle just visit and type in your guess, then the colour of the country will indicate how close it is to the one you’re trying to guess. If it’s bright red then it’s hot and very close and if it’s a dull beige then it’s cold and not very close.

The only other clue (at the bottom of the page, where it’s easy to miss) is the distance in kilometres from the target country.

Globle isn’t doing anything new but usually Wordle style games are just a basic grid of letters, with little or nothing else to look at, so the 3D globe is a bit of a novelty.

More and more Wordle clones are branching out lately though, including not just Heardle and its music clips but the movie-based as well.
