Last year’s Nvidia leak is looking more and more likely following confirmation that God Of War is available on GeForce Now.
A couple of days ago, the Nvidia GeForce Now account teased the possibility of the 2018 game coming to the streaming service. As of today, it’s been made official.
Specifically, it’s the PC port of the game that released for Steam back in January. Nvidia says it can be streamed ‘across nearly all devices and at up to 1440p and 120 frames per second for RTX 3080 members.’
This very much implies that more PlayStation games could come to the service. In fact, this was already suggested back in September thanks to .
As a reminder, dataminers found a huge list of games that are supposedly planned for GeForce Now. Among them was God Of War, as well as several other PlayStation exclusives.
These included , , and , all of which currently lack PC ports and are only available on PlayStation.
The list also named several games that don’t actually exist yet, but this God Of War announcement lends further credence that these unannounced games are real after all.
At the time, Nvidia claimed the list was purely speculative and a few of the games listed did seem like safe assumptions, such as Tekken 8 and (the latter of which has been announced since then).
However, several other games listed were far more obscure and not the sort of thing anyone would just guess at. The , for example, was never even hinted at by Square Enix, only to be announced suddenly in February.
Another example was something called Project OVER which, at the time, barely registered with people. Until earlier this month when Kotaku reported that it’s the codename for Ubisoft’s .
There are already too many coincidences and specific names for the list to be considered speculative, even if some might not prove accurate – simply because it’s common for projects to be cancelled or changed mid-development.
Plus, with more and more of them being confirmed in an official capacity, it only makes the unannounced games, like XCOM 3 and the Final Fantasy 9 remake, seem more likely.
