As he embraced the new romance, Nick felt ready to tell his mother, Sarah, played by the iconic Olivia Colman, about his sexuality. In the heartwarming scenes, she was completely supportive putting a nervous Nick at ease.

Things may not continue to be so easy as joining the fam are brother David and dad Stephane played by Jack Barton and Call my Agent! french actor Thibault de Montalembert.

Further clues for what viewers can expect come from the official trailer for the upcoming eight episodes.

We see Nick and Charlie getting closer while on a school trip to Paris, as well as their good friends Elle and Tao, as well as Tara and Darcy.

During the teaser, Charlie tell Nick ‘Everything’s going to be perfect,’ which is either very promising or setting us up for failure!

The very first scene was also shared during Netflix’s special live event Tulum. It opened with sweet polaroid photos of Charlie and Nick kissing before the camera panned to Charlie waking up to a text from his boyfriend.

He gets ready for school, texting Nick the whole time – with a giant grin across his face – and arrives at class where he’s surprised by Nick greeting him with his hands over his eyes.

Pure joy – exactly what fans fell in love with in the first place.

That’s not all: Tudum also revealed the names of each of the eight episodes, which in order are: Out, Family, Promise, Challenge, Heat, Truth/Dare, Sorry, and Perfect.

Heartstopper series 2 premieres August 3 on Netflix.
