star has revealed she will be part of the upcoming 12th series of the BBC drama after making a temporary exit last year.Â
The long-running series, written by Heidi Thomas, has been on for over a decade – with plenty of faces waving goodbye in that time.
One person who’s remained pretty much consistent in Nonnatus House is nurse Trixie Franklin (Helen George), who is a favourite of viewers.

But on Tuesday, Helen confirmed in upcoming episodes as the cast shared pictures from filming.Â

Fans were buzzing to see her back filming and remained hopeful of Trixie’s potential relationship .Â
One viewer wrote on Twitter: ‘Please now let her have her happy ending with Matthew!’
Another said: ‘Look who’s back !!! I cannot wait to see the gorgeous Helen back wonder if she’ll be Trixie Aylward ???’

The show’s post continued to tease what fans could expect from her comeback: ‘Our first week of filming the brand new Series 12 involves both day and night shooting – and guess who made a welcome return to Nonnatus house last night for her first scene … Trixie!

The show’s official account told viewers they were back filming once again on Tuesday morning, with a sweet clapperboard pic.

Co-star Stephen McGann, who plays Dr Turner in the midwife series, re-tweeted the picture adding: ‘Aaaaaand they’re off! xxx #CallTheMidwife #Series12.’
Helen welcomed another with partner Jack Ashton, who used to star in the series himself.Â
The couple were already parents to daughter Wren, born in September 2017.
