Afterwards, the iconic Simpsons house can be seen lying in ruins, with it being left uncertain as to whether the house will be rebuilt before future episodes.
Lisa then asks Homer to ‘please give us hope’, before Homer says ‘the government will help’, only for Mayor Quimby to comically shut down his claim.
And before the end of the trailer, we also get a brief shot of what looks to be yet another Beatles cameo – it looks like the show will be parodying Get Back.
Released during the pandemic, Get Back was a documentary series directed and produced by Peter Jackson that showed previously unseen footage of the band.
In addition, a shadow resembling Lisa or Maggie Simpson can be seen approaching Sideshow Bob in prison while holding a knife.
The trailer also promises a fight between Marge and Itchy & Scratchy and a ginormous pink blob exploding outside of Springfield Elementary.
There is a chance that the season may be cut short due to the ongoing writers’ strikes in Hollywood, which would make it the shortest season since 2007.
So far, the titles of only 11 episodes have been confirmed, and it’s not clear yet how many more have been made and how the strike has affected them.
