Is Simu Liu Korean? Nationality And Origin Explored

People often mistake Liu for a Korean guy, but he’s not Korean and wasn’t born in Korea. Even though the actor is Asian, neither south nor north Korea is his home.

Instead, he is Chinese. He was born and raised in China by his loving grandparents, and he will always be thankful for their love. But he likes Korean barbecue and hotpots, loves going to Koreatown, and likes to spend quality time with a lot of people while they eat.

Simu is a Canadian who was born in Harbin, Heilongjiang, China. His grandparents raised him until he was five years old, when he moved to the other side of the world.

The actor’s father showed up at his door one day to take him back, and they moved to Kingston, Ontario, Canada, where his parents were going to graduate school. After that, they moved to Etobicoke until they bought a house in Mississauga, Ontario. Also, Liu’s parents still live in Mississauga, but he owns a downtown Toronto apartment that he rarely lives in because he travels so much.

What Religion And Ethnicity Does Simu Liu Follows?

Liu is Asian-Canadian but hasn’t disclosed what religion he follows to the media yet. However, according to various internet sources, the actor follows Buddhism.

Since Simu was born and raised in China until he was five years old and has Chinese roots and culture, it makes sense for him to follow the path of Gautama Buddha. But he hasn’t said much on his social networking sites about what he thinks and who he follows.

Simu Liu Family: Meet The Actor’s Father And Mother

Simu is the son of Zhenning Liu and Zheng Liu. When Simu was a toddler, his parents moved away to go to graduate school abroad, leaving their young son with their parents.

He was close to his dad’s parents and cuddled with them every night. It was hard for him to live with his mom and dad because they expected him to be perfect and came from different cultures.

The actor rebelled against his parents by starting a boy band, going to late-night parties, flirting with girls, and getting B-average grades. He thought he had the worst parents, and when he decided to become an actor, their relationship got worse.

But as time went on, they got along better by talking to each other. Liu put all of his feelings into an eight-page letter that he gave to Zheng on his 60th birthday, and since then, the mother and son have been best friends.
