Marry Me actress Lopez announced last week that she was 18 years after they were first due to get hitched.Â
J-Lo shared the exciting news on Friday on her website, flashing her green engagement ring and coming over all giddy as she revealed ‘special’ news.
‘So I have a really exciting and special story to share… So if you’re not part of my inner circle you’ll have to go to OnTheJLo.com for this one,’ she teased.
It is now claimed that the news wasn’t a surprise to Ben’s ex-wife Garner, as he informed her about his plans beforehand, as well as their three children, Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10.
A source said: ‘Ben told Jen and the kids, so they knew about it. Jen is happy for Ben. And knows that J. Lo has been a positive influence in certain ways.’
According to E! News, the insider revealed Ben and Jennifer had actually ‘hoped to keep [the engagement] private a little bit longer’.
It’s also said the proposal was a ‘very intimate moment [with] just them two’.
‘[It] was low-key but very meaningful. Ben wanted the ring to be sentimental and put a lot of thought into it,’ they said.
With the excitement still fresh, Bennifer are reportedly and currently have no plans in place. However, the Love Don’t Cost A Thing singer is clearly over the moon about it as she’s already added the diamond ring emoji to her Twitter handle.Â
Jennifer, 52, and Ben, 49, rekindled their romance a year ago following her split from baseball star fiance Alex Rodriguez, and his romance with actress Ana DeArmas coming to an end.
The couple first started dating in July 2002 and got engaged in November of that year.
They were due to marry in September 2003 but postponed the wedding just days before the ceremony. They eventually called it quits leaving Ben to go on to marry Garner, and Jennifer to tie the knot with singer Marc Anthony, who she shares 14-year-old twins Max and Emme with.
