Jennifer Hudson has done little to silence the rumours that she’s dating Common after branding the rapper a ‘beautiful man.’
Rumours have been swirling for some time that the Dreamgirls actress and Glory rapper have been romantically involved after being spotted out and about on several occasions.
Common, 51, and Jennifer, 41, have remained quiet about the nature of their relationship but the Oscar-winning actress has shed some light and it’s sounding pretty promising.
Asked about the romance rumours, Jennifer said this week: ‘Rumours say a lot of things. But he’s a beautiful man, I will give you that.’
When told that she and Common would make the ‘cutest couple’, Jennifer seemed to agree and : ‘Thank you,’ while adding that ‘it would be dope’ if she collaborated with the rapper who also hails from Chicago like her.
Fans put two and two together when Jennifer and Common were first pictured together enjoying dinner at Nobu in Malibu, California in February.
The following month, talk show host Jennifer posted a glowing tribute to her rumoured boyfriend to mark his birthday, writing: ‘Team Jhud pls help me wish one of the brightest lights, a Chicago and hip hop legend, the one and only @common a very happy birthday on today!’ alongside a photo of them posing together and looking particularly close.
‘Thank you,’ Common responded, not giving anything away.
This summer, they spent quality time together in London after jetting over on Fourth of July weekend. Common was also pictured accompanying Jennifer as she attended the launch of the West End play A Strange Loop, which she is a producer of.
According to the Mail Online, the pair arrived at the Barbican Theatre separately but were seen together posing for pictures backstage.
In June, Common heaped praise on Jennifer and spoke highly of her career trajectory, saying on the Today show: ‘I’ve always been inspired by her. She’s one of the most beautiful people I ever met on the planet. Incredible heart, and she’s just dope, man.
‘Seeing her evolve from an actress and singing, she’s doing so many things and now her talk show, she’s amazing, she’s inspiring. I’m grateful to know her.’
Common has a long history of high-profile relationship with past love interests including Serena Williams, Erykah Badu and Taraji P Henson, while his last relationship was with comedian Tiffany Haddish until they split last year. He shares a 26-year-old daughter with ex-girlfriend Kim Jones.
Jennifer was previously engaged to wrestler David Otunga and the two are parents to 14-year-old son David Daniel Otunga Jr.
