Nickelodeon star claims she was not invited to this year’s Kids’ Choice Awards.

The Boomerang hitmaker worked with the children’s TV network for a number of years, including for D.R.E.A.M The Tour, which was produced by Nickelodeon.

This year’s annual Kids’ Choice Awards, which took place in Santa Monica on Saturday, saw JoJo nominated for the favorite social music star award – but despite this, she claims she was not invited to the ceremony.

The star took to on Saturday where she responded to fans’ confusion over her absence at the awards, and didn’t hold back in her answer.

‘A lot of you have been asking why I’m not at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards tonight and the answer is very simple,’ she said.

‘I wasn’t invited.

‘I’m not sure why but I just didn’t get an invite.’

I don’t want you thinking I didn’t want to be there, I would’ve loved to be there but I wasn’t invited:(

In a caption alongside the video, JoJo went on: ‘I don’t want you thinking I didn’t want to be there, I would’ve loved to be there but I wasn’t invited.’

Fans of the star were outraged on JoJo’s behalf, as they flocked to the comment section in their thousands to question Nickelodeon’s alleged decision.

‘She’s basically the face of nickelodeon,’ one person wrote. ‘It doesn’t make sense on how she didn’t get an invitation.’

‘The hurt in her voice :( you can tell she really wanted to be there,’ another said.

One claimed JoJo appeared to be ‘holding back tears’ in the video, while another attempted to cheer the young actress up by declaring: ‘Their loss!’

YouTuber and musician JoJo, who first shot to fame after appearing on two seasons of the popular Dance Moms show, has gathered a major fanbase in recent years.

JoJo boasts followers on YouTube, and was recently flooded with supportive comments from fans after she came out as gay last year.

The star made the announcement on social media in January 2021 as she donned a shirt bearing the words ‘Best. Gay. Cousin. Ever.’

However she later clarified that she didn’t want to label her sexuality but added she has ‘never been this happy.’
