was said to have wanted to remove windows and electricity from his Malibu mansion in an attempt to replicate a ‘1910s bomb shelter’, a lawsuit has revealed.
The 46-year-old rapper was reported to have wanted to make the changes to a $57million (£46m) home by the coast and is now being sued by the project’s former manager.
Tony Saxon allegedly claimed he was fired from the remodel after he ‘expressed concerns about the extreme danger of such actions’, according to outlet .
The lawsuit was filed by Saxon on Wednesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court and it outlined that the manager was hired for the project in September 2021.
The American publication obtained the lawsuit and said it claimed Saxon worked 16-hour days on the beach house that was designed by Tadao Ando.
They went on to report that the manager claimed he was sleeping on the floor of the star’s house so that he could fulfil his duties as ‘project manager, caretaker and 24/7 security’ for the home.
After refusing to remove windows and electricity, Saxon suggested that he was fired in November 2021 following allegations Kanye only paid him for one week of work and ignored all his concerns about the dangers surrounding his requests.
TMZ said the suit included a conversation between the pair during which the musician threatened: ‘If you don’t do what I say, you’re not going to work for me, I’m not gonna be your friend anymore and you’ll just see me on TV.’
Saxon shared that he explained to the star he didn’t watch television following which he was fired on the spot by the former partner of Kim Kardashian.
According to , the lawsuit also suggested that the Flashing Lights rapper had a vision to turn the home into something that resembled ‘a bomb shelter from the 1910s’.
His plans reportedly included the demolition of the marble bathrooms, as well as removing all the windows, plumbing and electricity from the property.
It was also claimed by the manager that the star wanted to rip out the house’s staircases and replace them with slides.
