Kate Garraway’s TV return date confirmed days after husband Derek Draper’s funeral

’s TV return has been confirmed of her husband .

The presenter will be back on screens tomorrow (Monday, February 5) to give an exclusive interview to the morning show.

This will be Kate’s first appearance and she will then rejoin co-host  on Thursday.

A post shared on X by GMB read: ‘Tomorrow Kate Garraway joins us to talk for the first time since the death of her beloved husband Derek.’

The post also featured a video honouring Kate and Derek, as a voiceover shared: ‘Kate Garraway has shared the story of caring for Derek over the last four years highlighting the struggle faced by thousands.

‘Tomorrow, she returns to Good Morning Britain to talk for the first time since the death of her beloved husband.’

It’s believed mum-of-two Kate – – has also told bosses at Smooth FM she is keen to get back to fronting her popular radio show with them.

A source told : ‘Kate has had an incredibly rough past couple of months, and it has taken its toll mentally and physically.

‘But she is a workhorse, and journalism, being on live TV, runs through her blood — it’s what she knows and loves.

‘Kate is keen to keep busy and get stuck back into work.’

They added that ‘it’s the perfect time for her to be reunited with her GMB family.’

‘Everyone at GMB has been hugely supportive, and are desperate to support and welcome her back into the family.’

‘They’re excited to have her back after so long away.’

The insider also said that, after caring for Draper for almost four years since he contracted Covid-19 in 2020, Kate ‘needs to get back to some sort of normality.’

It’s believed she ‘wants to throw herself back into work, 3:45am starts and all.’

Additionally, the cost of caring for her late partner on Kate, therefore, she ‘needs to work to provide for their kids, and bring stability back into their lives.’

‘It’s not a decision she’s taken lightly but she’s genuinely excited to get back into the studio,’ said the source.

‘She knows she needs to bite the bullet, and now seems as good a time as any.’

Kate’s last appearance on GMB was on December 8.

She then took a break indefinitely as her late husband’s health worsened.

While the beloved ITV star is provisionally scheduled to return full-time, it’s said that she has been offered the full support of bosses and when she needs.

A source assured that Kate’s well-being is ‘everyone’s main concern’, after she previously flew to Mexico with Draper for specialist treatment for his long Covid.

It was there that he suffered a devastating cardiac arrest, while Kate was forced to tell execs she needed time off.

In her first on-screen appearanceon Monday Kate will speak live about Draper’s funeral and his final days.

The former lobbyist  on January 3 after spending Christmas and New Year in hospital with Kate and their children by his side.

At his funeral on Friday (February 2), Kate was joined by a plethora of co-stars, famous faces, and politicians, including Sir Elton John.

The service took place at Primrose Hill church, which is where  just a year after they started dating.
