’s ex husband was rushed to hospital over the weekend.
The 48-year-old star, who was from 2010 to 2012, was left terrified as was ‘told to go straight to hospital’ with a life threatening condition.
The former fighter has a suspected abscess in his throat, which can be incredibly serious if it’s left untreated.
Alex, who will need to have the lump syringed, is currently waiting for the procedure.
‘Not having such a great weekend,’ he wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of himself in hospital. ‘Felt rough went to out of hours gp to be told to go straight to hospital.
‘Looks like I have an abscess in my throat that may need to be syringed. Didn’t realise how dangerous it was to be left with out treated!!
‘Was literally just going to take pain relief and sleep it off! Thank god I saw someone as was told it could have burst which is deadly!’
He heaped praise on the NHS for the work they do, and revealed he was waiting on an update on the next steps.
‘Thanking the NHS as always for your amazing services @nhsengland,’ he continued. ‘Waiting to see a doc now to let me know if I will be operated on…’

Alex first started dating Katie in 2009, shortly after she split from , and they got married the following year until their own breakup in 2012.
He has daughter Dolly, 11, with star Chantelle Houghton, and welcomed non-identical twin sons Phoenix Bobby and Hunter George.
He and Nikki, who have been together since 2013, also have one-year-old daughter Anastasia.
