The pair were both nominated for gongs at the glitzy awards ceremony, with Selena, 31, nominated for actress in a musical or comedy TV series for , and Taylor, 34, honoured with her , in a new category for cinematic and box office achievement for her Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film.

Despite neither taking home a prize on the night, they’ve still garnered plenty of attention following a video of the two pop icons engaged in a very dramatic exchange which left Taylor with her jaw on the floor.

The Blank Space hitmaker could be seen huddling close to the Wolves singer and talking into her ear during a commercial break before Selena said something to Taylor that left her looking noticeably shocked.

Selena nodded in response to her friend’s flabbergasted reaction, leaving fans dying to know what exactly the singers had been speaking about.

X user @allurequinn speculated that the pair were talking about Selena’s rumoured ex-boyfriend , who was with girlfriend at the star-studded bash.
