It was pure chaos when the Smile singer lost her virginity as it happened to be in the middle of a family holiday with her parents, dad Keith and brother Alfie.
The singer, 38, was hoping to do it discreetly after striking up a whirlwind holiday romance but her sudden disappearance was too suspicious for her father who grew worried for his daughter’s whereabouts and contacted the police.
Recalling the drama, Lily told on his : ‘I actually went missing. I lost my virginity to a guy called Fernando in Brazil. When I was about 12, no I am joking.’
She continued: ‘They [her parents] thought I actually went missing. I went to his hotel room, and I was on holiday with my dad and brother, and obviously didn’t come back to my room.’
The Not Fair songstress ‘slept in the next day’ which sparked panic among her family.
‘I woke up and there was police all over the hotel. They were literally combing the beach and had T-shirts [asking], “Is this what she was wearing?” I didn’t have the heart to say, no, I was just losing my virginity.
‘It was all a bit traumatic, and I didn’t have sex again then for a while.’
Lily added that her lover was ‘tall’ and that she ‘never spoke to him again’ leaving her pal and host Alan in hysterics.
Of course these days, Lily’s love life is much more settled as she’s married to Stranger Things actor David Harbour. The after eloping to Las Vegas where they were joined by Lily’s two daughters, Ethel, 11, and Marnie, 10, from her first marriage with Sam Cooper.
However, it appears some have with David, 48, as one cynically asked Lily in a recent Instagram Q&A: ‘Are you divorced yet?’ to which the theatre actress quipped back: ‘Yes I am divorced. From one marriage. But I am also in another marriage, currently.’
Lily’s first marriage with Sam lasted for five years, during which time they welcomed their children. They split in 2018 and Lily confirmed at the time during a TV appearance: ‘I went through a separation and a divorce. We share custody of our kids.’
The Somewhere Only We Know hitmaker previously admitted she was unfaithful during their relationship, explaining that their romance left her feeling as though she had lost her sense of self and identity.
