delivered an epic clapback to bodyshamers as she took home the music video for good award at the MTV .

The About Damn Time singer was recently targeted by Aries Spears, who made vile comments about her weight and appearance in an interview.

The comedian questioned why the , before cruelly suggesting that it was ‘treadmill time’.

Having precisely none of it, she chose to issue a blistering response while on stage with the latest addition to her trophy cabinet.

‘To the b****es that got something to say about me in the press,’ she fumed in front of the screaming crowd. 

‘You know what I’m not going to say nothing. They be like, “Lizzo, why don’t you say something? Why don’t you clap back? Why don’t you clap back?”

Earlier in her speech, Lizzo took the opportunity to encourage fans to put their votes to use in other ways, to stop oppressive laws in the US.

The musician took home the video for good gong at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, on Sunday night, and urged everyone to make sure their voices were heard in other ways.
