Marvel’s Louis Leterrier ‘to direct Fast and Furious 10’ after Justin Lin’s shock exit

Louis Leterrier is thought to have taken over as director of Fast and Furious 10 after Justin Lin’s exit.

of the action franchise, titled Fast X, last week, just days after filming kicked off.

According to reports, Marvel director Louis – who was behind the camera for The Incredible Hulk – will be replacing him on set.

Sources have claimed that the 48-year-old was Universal’s first choice to sit in the hot seat, after impressing with his previous films, including Transporter 2, Unleashed, Now You See Me and Netflix series Lupin.

While the news has not been confirmed by film bosses, sources added to that schedules are still being decided.

He confirmed his departure in a statement shared on social media, and told fans: ‘With the support of Universal, I have made the difficult decision to step back as director of Fast X, while remaining with the project as a producer.

‘Over 10 years and five films, we have been able to shoot the best actors, the best stunts, and the best damn car chases.

‘On a personal note, as the child of Asian immigrants, I am proud of helping to build the most diverse franchise in movie history.

‘I will forever be grateful to the amazing cast, crew and studio for their support, and for welcoming me into the Fast family.’

Justin has not shared the reason behind his decision.

Fast X is slated to be released in 2023 with returning stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson and Jordana Brewster.

Charlize Theron also reprised her role as Cipher and last week, giving her followers a glimpse at Jason Momoa behind the scenes.

Justin had directed five Fast and Furious movies, including the most recent blockbuster, F9, last year.
