My Name Is Earl star Ethan Suplee continues to show off his inspiring weight loss in his latest post.
The 47-year-old actor, who was known for his often ‘big and bumbling’ on-screen persona in the American sitcom, after an obsession with secret eating and dramatic dieting saw him tip the scales at over 500lbs by the age of 24.Â
Fans have been following Ethan’s weight loss journey on Instagram, and many stunned to see how far he has come.
Sharing a side-by-side picture of himself at his heaviest versus what he looks like now, it is evident that Ethan has been working very hard at the gym.
‘I am aware of change as much as I am aware of the sun rising and setting,’ he captioned the post.
‘What shapes how we change? Is it some divine force, our environment, the chemistry within the meat sacks we use to navigate this mortal plane? The only constant in life is change. Heraclitus.
‘Change is guaranteed, whether active or passive is up to me.’
Fans hailed his transformation ‘inspirational,’ with one person writing: ‘Ethan I just would like to say thank you for sharing your journey. You have directly inspired me to take my health back.’
Another added: ‘You’re a true motivation. I am 60 down and loving life, your story found me and was a big part of me starting and doing it right the first time.’
Ethan, who also starred in American History X, Santa Clarita Diet and The Hunt, has been working hard to feel more at ease with his body over the years, and now he’s achieved it, he’s hoping to stick with it.
‘I’m trying now to learn to live in, and be happy with, the maintenance period…’ he previously said. ‘I spent decades adjusting to periods of suffering through dieting.
‘It worked. I’d get to my goal—and then very rapidly undo my goal.’
The US sitcom My Name Is Earl ran from 2004 to 2009 and was axed after four seasons.
My Name Is Earl is available to stream on Disney Plus.
