‘And she’s the kind of person that I could just tell anything to without feeling judged or worried.
‘She is truly the bomb.’
Over the last two seasons, viewers have caught Devi changing from the ‘loser’ in high-school to Paxton’s girlfriend with a ‘skyrocketing social status’.
Along the way, she’s grieved over her father, come to terms with her cultural roots, and started dating the man of her dreams, but is that all about to change with the arrival of Des (Anriduh Pisharody)?
Talking about the favourite parts of playing her character through her wild high school journey, Maitreyi told us: ‘Devi feels a lot, she gets angry, she gets sad, she gets really happy.
‘She really has strong emotions – and I think that’s my favourite part.
‘Just the other day, I was watching a bunch of clips from all the different seasons, and it really was honestly emotional to watch this character have a true hero’s journey.
‘She really goes through it and leaves the show where she’s growing immensely.’
